South Glens Falls, NY — The Green Party's Christine Elms is the only candidate ready to serve the community of South Glens Falls' on their Village Board.
Elms received a write-up in the Glens Falls Post Star, which noted that she would "become the first woman on the Village Board." Christine ran for the same position in 2017, amassing an impressive 41% of the votes in her first run for office.
Christine wrote on her campaign Facebook page:
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, South Glens Falls is holding a special election to select a new trustee, to fill a seat left vacant when a long standing member of the board resigned 15 months before the end of his term.
South Glens Falls has struggled to find individuals who are both passionate about the community, and willing to run for office. Over the past year I have noticed that our village needs competent leadership, with new and diverse ideas. Our government needs increased transparency, and open lines of communication between village officials and their constituents.
That is why, I am announcing today, my Acceptance of Nomination as a Green Party Candidate for Trustee in the Village of South Glens Falls in the March 20 special election.
Polls on election day are open from noon until 9pm at Village Hall, 46 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY. Thank you for taking the time to read this announcement.
