Green Party of New York County Meeting

The meeting is being called, pursuant to Section 4.3.1 of The Green Party of New York County By-laws which state, in part:  "GPNYCO County Organization meetings will be scheduled at least once every calendar year.  Meetings must be announced no later than ten (10) days prior to the date of such meeting."

Among the items of business on the agenda will be:

  • Reports from the Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer
  • Reportback from the January 20 State Committee Meeting
  • Elections for Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer

Pursuant to Section 3.2.3 of our County By-laws: "The Officers are elected by the CO to two-year terms at the first meeting set as close as possible to and just after New Year's Day. All candidates must be nominated by a GPNYCO member at the meeting held directly before New Year's Day."

The Green Party of New York County became recognized by the Green Party of New York State as the county organization of New York County, at the party's state committee meeting on September 22, 2012.  This recognition not only allows Greens registered in New York County to participate in the business of the party's State Committee through representatives to that body; it also allows New York County Greens to nominate and certify candidates for public office in Manhattan.

PLEASE NOTE: Meetings of the Green Party of New York County are public meetings.  Individuals who are not registered Greens in New York County and/or who do not reside in New York County are welcome to attend the meeting as observers.  However, only duly-registered members of the Green Party of New York County may participate in the meeting. 

If you recently registered as a member of the Green Party; or if you are not certain you are registered as a Green Party member with the Board of Elections, please  bring proof of your registration to the meeting, and present it when you sign-in.
