Want Multi-party democracy? Elections with choices that matter and results that represent the will of the public? It doesn't take much more than the right reform. Come learn about this key reform for the best results possible and discuss how it fits with the growing movement for election reform in Albany.
The Albany County Green Party, working in coalition with RCV Albany and Unite NY, is hosting a presentation on Ranked Choice Voting and Proportional Representation.
PR-RCV is a simple method used around the world, including in the United States in the cities of Cambridge, MA, Portland (Maine and Oregon), and Minneapolis, and historically in NYC, to elect candidates to a legislature based on the proportion of votes they receive in the general election.
PR-RCV makes every vote count. It broadens democracy and brings more voices and choices into the electoral process.
Adopting it in Albany would be a major step in a growing movement for grassroots democratic electoral reform in New York.
