The Green Party of New York is hiring a Campus Organizing Coordinator to get out the vote for Jill Stein on New York State campuses. The Campus Organizer will play a critical role in energizing and empowering local communities in support of Jill Stein across the United States. Interviews will be offered on a rolling basis to qualified applicants.
This is a temporary, full-time position through December 2016. The compensation based on experience. Access to own transportation is required. GPNY will reimburse Campus Organizer for all pre-approved costs (transportation, materials).
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate organizer to help engage voters on campuses across New York state to encourage and give them all the necessary tools to get out the vote for Jill Stein on Election Day, November 8.
The Campus Organizer will be based in New York State.
Women, people of color, non-gender conforming, and from communities and backgrounds that are underrepresented in politics & government are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Recruiting, training, and managing student volunteers on New York campuses.

Developing volunteer leaders to organize voter registration drives, phone banks, canvasses, and other events designed to mobilize young voters and engage volunteers.

Developing and help implement creative tactics to help make organizing fun and meaningful for young voters.

Help manage events by Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka and/or campaign surrogates on campuses or in the surrounding community

Support campus volunteers in setting and meet voter registration goals.

Conducting outreach to student groups, university and college administrators and professors, local businesses and allied organizations.

Represent the campaign at campus community meetings and events.

Help implement direct voter contact programs to motivate and mobilize young voters in support of Jill Stein.

Candidates with experience with campus or youth organizing, volunteer recruitment and management or building relationships with diverse groups of people are preferred.
