Colia Clark for U.S. Senator from NYS, 2010

Colia L. Liddell LaFayette Clark is the Green Party candidate for U.S. Senator from NYS in 2010.

"As US Senator, I will work tirelessly to address the failing economy, failing schools, criminal injustice system, failing infrastructure, crisis in energy, health care, food production and other areas of the USA socio-political economy."

My Issues:

Reclaiming and Building Public Education
EDUCATION IS A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE. AN IGNORANT POPULATION CANNOT PROTECT THE NATION.
America’s greatest national treasure and resource is her youth. We must protect our national treasure so that it grows wealth as a valued resource for centuries to come. The best way to do this is through education. Education is a human right and a national security priority. An illiterate population is a danger to the security of the nation.

I support the creation of Independent Parent Advocacy Boards in each school district.

Charter Schools should not be funded with public education dollars. I will help to reverse the pattern of robbing the public education budget in order to build the Charter School Movement. Our children’s future is not for sale.

NYS and the nation must invest in a public education which provides: multiple literacies; curriculum and school programs that meet the full needs of each student; and cooperative  classrooms. In addition, arts, music, drama sports, and agriculture must all be integrated into the curriculum for all students.
