All seats on the Green Party of NY State Committee are up for election this year. The Green Party in NY's Rules and Policy use a method of electing SC members that closely follow BOE guidelines but allow for some flexibility to facilitate the election of as many SC members as possible.
If you have questions, please contact a GPNY officer or your local county organization.
If you are interested in running for a SC seat in your area, you must petition. Please refer to the requirements for your district below. The petition period begins June 3th and petitions must be turned in by August 19th. You are required to obtain signatures from 5% of the enrolled Greens in your district, as of the Spring state BOE postings. You may only petition in a district in which you reside. Petitions must be submitted to the State Committee Secretary Craig Seeman, at Craig Seeman & Michele Danels (include BOTH names), 70 Wyckoff Ave. Loft 2G, Brooklyn, NY 11237-3381. You may use the petition provided below.

To determine your State Committee District, use the list below or download this [download id="4"] First look down the first column "County" until you find the name of the county you live in. Look across to the next column to find the district. If it is your county's name again, or your Assembly District number, that is your State Committee district and you use the figures in that row. If not continue down the first column to the next occurrence of your county's name and repeat the procedure.
County = your county of residence
District = this is your State Committee District.
It will be either a County, an Assembly District, part of an AD, or a grouping of parts of ADs.
Seats = the number of seats open in this district. (See * below).
To find out where your Assembly District is, or to see a map of it, go to theNYS BOE web site.
In districts with an even number of seats, one half of the seats must be female and one half must be male and are elected in separate elections. In districts with an odd number of seats, one gender may hold no more than the number of seats that gives them a majority of seats.
Votes/seat = each seat is allocated this number of votes. All seats in a district get the same number of votes.
* = in districts marked with an asterisk, if only one seat is filled, that member is allocated two votes.
Sigs (Signatures Needed) = this is the number of enrolled Greens that must properly sign a petition submitted to nominate a Green for State Committee for this district.
