Friday, October 10th at 6:30pm at New York University in Manhattan
100 Washington Square East, Silver Building, Room 207

Rosa Clemente, the vice presidential candidate for the Green Party, hip-hop artist, independent journalist and community activist, is back in her native New York for a short period and has agreed to come to NYU to talk about some of the big issues facing progressives today. This is guaranteed to be an exciting event where we will discuss several pressing political questions.

For instance,

1) Given the electoral rules of the game, why is important to put our efforts into third party politics? Are there limitations to this approach?

2) What is the Green Party’s vision for building a broad democratic, environmental, anti-racist, anti-sexist, and anti-capitalist movement?

3) What is the relationship between electoral tactics and organizing at the grassroots level aimed at building a movement against exploitation and domination? What are the tensions, if any, involved in these tactics?

4) What is the campaign’s relationship to different organized (and non-organized) social sectors: labor, immigrants, poor urban/rural communities of color, queer folks, environmental justice, anti-war, etc.?

5) What does the Green Party offer to young activists?

We will be getting together on October 10th at, New York University, 100 Washington Square East, Silver Building, Room 207. The event will start at 6:30pm and will go until about 9pm. However, we can always extend it if the discussion is raging.

Solidarity,
