Mayoral candidates face off in New Paltz
Debate focuses on housing issues

NEW PALTZ - Senior housing and apartments for students were topics for debate Sunday by village mayoral candidates.Mayor Jason West faced off against Trustee Terry Dungan and business owner Jonathan Cohen during the three-hour session at village hall.West, a Green Party member, is running for a second term in office on the People's Party slate.Dungan is a retired teacher who has served on the village board for the past two years. He is running under the Village Unity Party name.Cohen owns the Groovy Blueberry boutique on Main Street and several rental properties. He is running a write-in campaign.
