HVGP meetings are open to all registered Green Party voters in Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties. Other Greens can attend as guests.
Our December 10 meeting agenda will include announcements from members, report-backs from our members who are also members of GPNY Committees and Working Groups (WG's), and GPUS Caucuses. This will include reports of recent activity by our recently formed Climate Action WG, updates on the resistance to Cricket Valley and Dannskammer toxic power plants; moving to finalize launch of Ranked Choice Voting WG, and to facilitate development of Universal Healthcare WG and Peace Action WG.
We will also review our project on hosting hour-long recorded interviews with GP contenders for the 2020 presidential candidacy, discuss any potential GP candidates for local races in 2020, review our efforts to resist state Democratic Party attempts to get third parties off the state ballot, and nominate some of our members to hold offices in our affiliate for 2020-22. Any registered Green Party voter in our three county area is eligible for nomination. Elections for those offices will occur during our following meeting, scheduled for Jan. 7.
