Vice President Dick Cheney arrived at the U.S. Military Academy at
West Point by helicopter at about 8:45 this morning. Outside the
West Point grounds in downtown Highland Falls, about 300 anti-war
protesters are holding a rally in Veterans Memorial Park. Nearby,
several dozen pro-military demonstrators are holding a counter
demonstration.

The two groups have been trading some insults by megaphones, but
police have reported no problems. The peace protesters are getting
ready to march down West Point Highway to the entrance of the
Military Academy, where they will then turn around.

Cheney is the keynote speaker at this morning's West Point
graduation.
